Survival Instinct, Directed by Kezia Saunders, is a black comedy about the end of the world.  The lead character Nate can't believe his luck, he's survived, but with four of the most annoying people on the planet.

Despite being a comedy, Kezia and Colin wanted to make the visuals as cinematic as possible.  Colin decided to use a film emulation LUT as a base for the look and added some purple to the greens of the forest to dull them, as if life in this world was dying off.  Most of the film is shot with wide lenses up close to the actors to enhance the comedic performances, and to show some of the intensity of the scenes.  Also, for the lighting, all natural light was used with heavy flagging to try and enhance the shadows reflecting the dark tone of the comedy.
